IISc offers prestigious Raman Post-doc positions, with a highly competitive institute-wide selection. The details of the application process are provided here. Those interested should follow the application procedure described there.
Applicants who are not selected for the Raman Post-doc positions can still be considered for the Research Associate positions in the Centre through various faculty grants (at specific times as listed below). These positions are typically for Indian citizens only, and require approval of a specific faculty member of the Centre as the mentor. They are normally for a period of two years, but may be continued for a third year in exceptional cases. Bachelor's accommodation may be available on campus. The salary would be around Rs. 30000 per month plus HRA (30% of salary if staying off-campus).
Non-Indians should note that post-doctoral fellows of the Indian Institute of Science can only be paid in Indian Rupees (currently 1 USD is about 70 Rupees) They may therefore wish to explore other sources of funds or ny exchange programmes which may exist between the governments of their country and India.
