Visitors' Programme

CHEP welcomes both short and long-term visitors, from students to senior scientists. Visitors may either work with members of CHEP or pursue independent research. If possible, we pay return train fare from the visitor's home institution within India to Bangalore, and a per diem for local expenses. We also try to arrange accommodation on campus. It should be noted that this is not a project/internship programme. No official letters or certificates are provided to the visitors.

To apply for a visit to CHEP, write to the Chairman, Centre for High Energy Physics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 560012, specifying your areas of interest, any persons in CHEP with whom you would like to interact, and your preferred dates of visit.

CHEP does not have any summer student programme of its own. But there are several summer student programmes which allow students from all over the country to work with IISc faculty members during May-June every year. These include Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, Indian Academy of Sciences Summer Fellowship, and JNCASR Summer Research Fellowship. Interested students should respond to their advertisements to get selected. Afterwards, they may contact CHEP members if they are interested in learning and exploring theoretical physics. Those looking for recommendation letters or quick publications need not apply.
