CHEP Colloquium – After the Higgs Discovery

Abstract: The Standard Model of particle physics has been almost completed with the discovery of the Englert-Brout-Higgs boson at the LHC in 2012. However, there appears yet no definite clue for New Physics. We will review why we dreamed of something new and what was expected to appear beyond the Standard Model. Then, we will discuss the current trend in exploring new directions and expanding the realm of possibility which have been overlooked before.
