Title: Hunting for Beyond the Standard Model Higgs at the CMS experiment
Speaker: Dr. Pallabi Das, RICE University, U.S.A.
Time : 4:00 PM
Venue: Auditorium
Abstract:
The Higgs boson was discovered by the LHC experiments in 2012. Several theories beyond the standard model predict this particle to be a portal to new physics interactions. Recent measurements hint that the Higgs boson branching fraction to undetected particles could be as high as 16%. It is thus important to search for possible rare and exotic decay modes directly. In this talk, we will discuss exotic Higgs boson decays into a pair of pseudoscalar particles (a) interpreted in the Two-Higgs-Doublet Model extended with a complex scalar singlet (2HDM+S) using data from the CMS experiment at LHC’s Run-2. The findings in the H→ aa → ττbb final state analysis will be presented. We will also briefly discuss how the CMS experiment plans to improve searches and measurements for Run-3 and HL-LHC.
