Title: New physics searches at the CMS experiment with novel trigger algorithms and analysis techniques
Speaker: Dr. Pallabi Das, RICE University U.S.A.
Time: 2:30pm
Venue: LH-3
Abstract:
The trigger system of the CMS experiment at CERN has been evolving continuously since the startup of the LHC. New features and algorithms have been developed during Run-3 to take care of higher data loads due to increasing instantaneous luminosity and pileup, and to include new experimental signatures. Beyond Run-3, the trigger system will undergo a major upgrade to replace hardware and require complete remodelling of the trigger algorithms. We will discuss a few of these algorithms, which have been tested and implemented in hardware. In addition, ongoing efforts to include unexplored phase space to search beyond the standard model signatures will be presented.
